 Interested in sculptures？ Then Sanyi is the place for you！ This small town in Miaoli County is famous in Taiwan for its wood carving. The people of Sanyi have been carving wood for over 400 years. The carvers there are some of the quickest and best in the world.
If you watch the carvers in Sanyi， you will see their unusual carving style. They get their ideas for what they carve from the shape of the wood. At the Museum of Wood Sculpture， you can see hundreds of examples of the Sanyi style of wood carving.
But that is not all there is to see and do in Sanyi. Sanyi is also known for being home to many Hakka people. Visit the town and you can enjoy many delicious Hakka foods， like pickled vegetables or Lei Cha， a special Hakka tea.
The best time to visit Sanyi is early summer. That is when the trees are covered with white and yellow blossoms. When the wind blows， the blossoms from the trees fall to the ground like snow！ The beauty of “snow”falling in summer is a sight that you definitely should not miss！
